MSLAB offers specific medications for women’s well-being, including antifungals for vaginal mycoses and a morning-after pill for unwanted pregnancies.
What is a mycosis?
A mycosis is an infection of the skin or mucous membranes by parasitic micro-fungi. Symptoms vary (usually itching) depending on the pathogen involved. It is treated with a local antifungal agent.
How does the morning-after pill work?
The morning-after pill, also known as emergency contraception, is a hormonal medication indicated for women who have had intercourse with a risk of unwanted pregnancy. It blocks ovulation so that male gametes cannot fertilize the ovum. It also thickens cervical mucus, preventing sperm from reaching the egg.
